TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a free academic success program designed to help you thrive at Ïã½¶ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø from your first semester to graduation.

SSS is here to support you, guide you and celebrate you every step of the way.

What You’ll Get as a SSS Student

Personalized Academic Coaching

  • Students receive personalized academic coaching through one-on-one advising tailored to their goals, help choosing the right classes, Academic Success Plans that track their growth and tools for time management, study strategies and motivation.

Free Tutoring and Learning Support

  • Students have access to free tutoring and learning support from professional and peer tutors trained to help them succeed, including subject specific tutoring in writing, math, sciences and more, study skills training and online tutoring options for flexible support.

Financial Aid and Money Management Support

  • Students receive financial aid and money management support including FAFSA help and financial aid guidance, assistance understanding their financial aid package, financial literacy workshops on budgeting, managing credit and smart borrowing and guidance on scholarships, reducing college costs and potential eligibility for Grant Aid.

Career Exploration and Major Planning

  • Students receive career exploration and major planning support through career assessments to discover their strengths, resume and cover letter help, internship search support, mock interviews, professional preparation and guidance on graduate school exploration and funding.

Personal Wellness and Counseling Support

  • Students receive personal wellness and counseling support through access to a dedicated Personal and Campus Counselor, workshops on stress, wellness, relationships and balance and help connecting to additional on campus wellness resources.

Cultural and Educational Events

  • Students participate in cultural and educational events including cultural experiences that broaden their worldview, academic enrichment activities, community celebrations and recognition events and opportunities to meet other students just like them.


Who Can Apply?

As a federally funded TRIO program, students must meet eligibility criteria to participate in the program.

  • You are a first generation college student (neither parent has a bachelor’s degree).
  • You meet federal income guidelines.
  • You have a documented disability.

The SSS program serves 140 students each year, so spaces are limited.
