Diversity & Inclusion

Ï㽶ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø Pacific is a regional campus whose student community comes from around the Central Valley. 

The university embraces diversity, challenges perspectives and transforms individuals. It opens its doors to individuals who look different from one another to a space of learning so that they will cultivate change for the good of humanity. The hope is that students will embark on a journey that is Christ-centered so that they are driven towards social justice and service to others.

The goal of our Diversity and Inclusion programs, events and initiatives is not only to invite students, but to radically include them into the fold and fabric of the university. We want to challenge our students to be uncomfortable and to strive to be servant leaders through awareness and dialogue.

Multicultural Scholars Leadership Program

The purpose of the Multicultural Scholars Leadership Program is to equip FPU students to holistically engage in diversity, equity and inclusion work campus-wide (and beyond) and to encourage students to seek to understand and embrace their own multicultural identity and the multicultural identity of others. Affinity Groups

Affinity Groups present an opportunity for spiritual formation and community through small group gatherings united around a shared identity or cultural/ethnic background.

Current Affinity groups at FPU include: Monarca (Latinx Student Union) and ROOTED (Black Student Union).

Affinity Groups meet at various times throughout the week. Some might meet weekly, others meet every other week. For a current schedule of Affinity Groups and their meeting times, please download the Involve App or check out the specific Affinity Group's information.

 

Events

The Intercultural Learning Center (ILC) brings students from diverse cultural, national and lived experiences together through educational programs, cultural celebrations, leadership development and community-building events. Our goal is to foster belonging, promote intercultural understanding and prepare students to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. We Serve Our AB 540 Students and DACA Students

As part of the California Education Code, AB 540 allows certain students who have attended high school in California for 3 or more years and earned a high school diploma or its equivalent to be exempt from paying nonresident tuition at California Universities.
